Yoga Teacher Training Program
Maxwell House Yoga Teacher Training (MHYTT) is not really like our yoga classes though our daily classes should embody our teacher training!
Usually we meditate for a few minutes, discuss our general feelings about the week, discuss the chapter we have read, actually practice anything there is to be practiced: (asana, pranayama, meditation, mouna, yoga nidra), discuss questions about the teaching the material, how it relates, if it relates to our yoga classes, how we do or do NOT agree with the opinions and philosophies expressed in the orange book, what it all means in terms of our lives as yogis and yoginis……
No!!! MHYTT is not like a regular daily class–those daily classes, which always include the warmup, which the book does not teach, are our personal fruitions….We as teachers hold this book in our mind and body stream as we teach our classes. By attending the daily classes, we experience the view and practices of Satyananda yoga if the class is well done. By reading and discussing and practicing the book in our TT class, we begin to feel and embody what it all means. We also form a strong bond as yogis practicing and sharing our hearts and minds.
Teacher Training is a discussion class of the view and the ground, the path, and, the fruition of yoga. It doesn’t mean we get it all the first time through, but if you allow it, it will change everything.
Our text is A Systematic Course in the Ancient Tantric Techniques of Yoga and Kriya by Swami Satyananda Saraswati, which is available on Amazon
and also as a free PDF
