Great_eastern_sunMeditation

The Hoosier Heartland Shambhala Meditation Group (HHSMG) now offers three meditation sessions each week. All support shamatha meditation, a form of mindfulness meditation that is a central Buddhist practice. Shamatha means “peaceful abiding.” In this type of meditation, the object of meditation is the breath. We alternate sessions of silent or unguided sitting meditation with sessions of walking meditation or stretching. Brief instruction is available on request. Please join us and spread the word.

Quarterly Saturday Morning Half-Day Retreats

In addition to weekly sits, we offer half-day Saturday morning meditation retreats four times a year at the Center for Wholism, 2401 N Walnut St. Doors open at 8:30; sitting starts at 8:45. We begin with brief instruction. We alternate between periods of sitting meditation separated by sessions of stretching or walking meditation. We break for tea mid-morning and end just after noon. We provide cushions and chairs and an inspiring meditation room. Bring a bag lunch and join us for conversation after. Check our website for the next retreat.
